Copernican Principle §

It’s an application of Baye’s Rule with an Uninformative priors when predicting the duration of something.

It states that an event will continue for as long as it has existed so far.

If we want to predict how long something will last, and have no other knowledge about it whatsoever, the best guess we can make is that it will continue just as long as it’s gone on so far.
